Warehouse

We work closely with every other department. If the company had a crossroads it would be the warehouse. Our main function is the actual fulfilment of purchase orders – efficiently and quickly. Orders for existing stock are gathered and despatched for next day delivery. New stock is received daily from suppliers around the world. We operate a rotating stock control system.

The warehousing facility is divided into two main sections, reflecting the nature of our business. One section contains shelving for ostomy and urinary products. The other section contains racking that reaches to the sky, holding every type of medical equipment from elastic shoe laces to powered wheelchairs. We also have a workshop to carryout equipment calibration and repairs.

Each of our Warehouse Operatives is fully trained in every aspect of both sections of the warehouse: from receiving in stock deliveries to gathering orders: triple-checking for accuracy, and packing and despatching the order with the relevant accompanying paperwork. Returns are processed and addressed in one day.

The warehouse team attend ongoing training – both in-house and externally – in keeping with the company’s occupational health and safety policies and procedures, which especially promotes correct manual handling and the safe use of heavy equipment. We conduct ‘toolbox meetings’ in the warehouse each month to discuss interdepartmental performance, receive suggestions, and communicate company projects and strategy.

The warehouse works very closely with several other sections of the company, including customer service, field sales, and our retail outlets. We must all work together to achieve the company’s ultimate aim: excellence in service. It’s what our customers both pay for and warrant.
