In our company there exists diversity in age, gender, and nationality. Such balance is important to maintaining a contented and successful work-culture. It makes for good teamwork and provides the company with a sound foundation for strategic development and change.
This diversity is the natural result of securing the best candidate every time – and where discrimination in any form is precluded during the recruitment and selection process. 40% of present employees are female; 60% are male. 10% of present employees are aged between 20 and 30; 48% of employees are aged between 30 and 40; and 42% of employees are aged 40 or over.
We enjoy enviable employee retention: 75% of present employees have worked in our company for between five and ten years or more. Employee advancement through internal recruitment is common.
Our company rarely uses the services of employment agencies or recruitment consultants. We prefer to ‘recruit from scratch’ – a more direct approach which many candidates appreciate. We do not engage in ‘headhunting.’
We value transferable skills in candidates. However, we do not give priority to applicants based solely on their practical expertise; these skills can be gained within the company. Instead we concentrate on finding ‘the right fit’ for our company and then training the successful candidate.
